After a previous scrub due to a launch pad problem, SpaceX successfully launched its Crew-10 mission to the International Space Station
The Crew-10 mission will deliver four astronauts – NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin – to the International Space Station. The primary objective of the mission is to relieve the current crew, which includes NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been aboard the ISS longer than planned. The mission is critical for maintaining continuous operations and research activities on the ISS. NASA.gov, NPR
Replacing the Starliner Crew
The Crew-10 mission is particularly significant due to the ongoing delays and challenges with Boeing's Starliner program. Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore were initially sent to the ISS aboard the Starliner, but the spacecraft's issues have prevented their timely return. Crew-10 will now facilitate their return to Earth.
