However, Atletico Madrid didn’t wait long to respond, with French striker Griezmann equalizing in the 35th minute, bringing the score to 1-1, which remained until halftime.

This brought the aggregate score to 2-2, pushing both teams into extra time and a penalty shootout. Atletico Madrid’s goalkeeper shone in the shootout, leading his team to the Quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League 2024.
